Job overview

Astrea Academy Trust is looking for a new Head of Data and Insights to join our brilliant and vibrant team. This is an exciting time to join us. We are on a shared mission to tackle historic disadvantage and look to do this through a knowledge-rich approach to curriculum and pedagogy.

Across the organisation, we are looking to invest into the effective use of data. The next phase of our development at Astrea Academy Trust is the powerful and effective use of data to inform decisions. This is a powerful opportunity for the successful applicant to shape our collective thinking about what we educationally want to know and therefore which data to robustly collect to tell us. You will work closely with colleagues in both the primary and secondary directorates.

Educational performance data forms the basis of this role, and you will work alongside a growing team of Data Intelligence Officers to support the informed use of data. You will also work with directors in other functions such as HR, Estates, IT and Finance.

You will report to the Director of Curriculum & Assessment and line-manage a growing team of Data Intelligence officers. This role will also work alongside critical stakeholders and develop relationships with MIS and supporting the DPO.

This position is open to those with experience of working with data within organisations. Having worked within an educational organisation is beneficial. You need to be somebody with the creativity to solve complex problems and support Astrea Academy Trust’s mission to tackle disadvantage.

We would encourage you to arrange a conversation with the Director of Curriculum & Assessment, Matt Carnaby, ahead of the interview date in w/c 17th June. To arrange a telephone or Teams call, please contact matt.carnaby@astreaacademytrust.org

If you are joining us from another school, academy or trust we recognise your continuous service date with confirmation from your current employer. This can positively impact a number of entitlements, including increased annual holiday payments which represent an increase in salary. This can be discussed in more detail at interview.

Astrea Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
