Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and high energy Head of Development and Engagement to join us at The Abbey.
The Head of Development and Engagement is a significant role within the School, working closely with the Whole School Leadership Committee (WSLC) to help manage strategic priorities for The Abbey.
The role is part of a wider team looking after admissions, marketing, fundraising and engagement with the community. The post-holder will be responsible for relationships with local, peer and national stakeholders, and also have overall responsibility for the alumnae community, working closely with the Development and Engagement Officer. The role fundamentally involves sharing and celebrating The Abbey story and supporting the profile of the school. This in turn supports the recruitment of students and connects to fundraising and the development of close relationships with supporters and friends.
The post-holder will be heavily involved with ARCH, our leading partnership and community programme, offering learning opportunities for young people across Reading via an innovative network of schools, charities, businesses and other organisations. The post-holder reports to the Director of Marketing, Admissions and Development but also has direct links with other key leaders including the Heads of Finance and Resources, Junior and Senior Schools and the overall Head.
The post holder will lead on a comprehensive programme that fosters meaningful connections with alumnae and other members of The Abbey Community and promotes warm relationships and engagement. They will oversee all fundraising campaigns and initiatives with a particular focus on capital project and bursary support. We are looking for a committed and inspirational individual ready to take part in an exciting period of strategic growth and renewal.
This role is a permanent, full time position working all year round.
We encourage you to open our candidate pack to see more about this position and The Abbey.
