Salary range: £28,660 - £47,298 + TLR (Inner London Pay Scale)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Head of English.

You will be joining a highly motivated team with a track record of success at both GCSE and A Level. English has traditionally been a strong subject within the school and we are ambitious to improve that still further. Working with the Senior Leadership Team, you will monitor the progress and outcomes of all students and ensure that students are making a significant and positive contribution to all progress and attainment measures. You will have a strong knowledge of pedagogy and a commitment to ensuring that all lessons are rated good or better within your department.

You will teach across the age and ability range in this rapidly improving 11-18 school.  You will be an excellent practitioner and be an inspiring role model to your colleagues, both within your department and beyond. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead others in a journey of improvement.

Sedgehill is on a rapid journey of improvement, standards have been transformed across the school and this is an exciting opportunity for the right person to contribute significantly to a school improvement journey. Sedgehill is the largest secondary school in Lewisham and has state of the art facilities.
