Denstone College wish to provide an opportunity for an inspirational Head of IT to join our team and be responsible for developing and leading the IT strategy and promoting its effective implementation across the College. The post holder will ideally have education experience in order to lead our IT department, taking a key role in the IT governance structure and driving high levels of service and successful change programs. 

Denstone College and The Prep at Denstone College are a leading independent school in rural Staffordshire. Beginning life as a school in 1873, Denstone College is a thriving, co-education boarding and day school, situated close to Uttoxeter. We have our own preparatory school, which has recently moved onto the main campus, providing continuous education on the same site for pupils aged from 4–18. The school is part of the Woodard Corporation, and the Head is in membership of HMC.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • The ability to develop and communicate a clear IT strategy for the College in conjunction with senior leaders, Governors and IT users
  • A formal IT qualification to degree level or significant relevant experience
  • Experience of working in an educational environment within a similar role is desired 
  • Experienced in leading an IT support team
  • Experience of leading IT projects, initiatives and strategies to successful conclusions 
  • Experience of interpreting legislation, policy and guidance to contribute to the formulation of policies and procedures that ensure compliance 
  • Understanding of industry best practice for service management, project management and cybersecurity
  • Ability to manage & monitor budgets
