Job overview

We currently have a vacancy for a Teacher to join our school which incorporates a Head of Learning role. We require candidates to apply who teach the following specialisms PE, Science, Maths or Geography and also have a track record of improving progress and attainment.  

Wellfield School promotes an engaging style of teaching, providing high quality learning that inspires and motivates students. We encourage CPD to improve pedagogy amongst staff and like to share best practice. Individuals are encouraged to discuss subject and teaching both informally and in departmental meetings.

The successful candidate should have a passion for their subject and be able to enthuse and develop a love of their subject. They should also be able to lead a year group's learning and be an expert on those students.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, coupled with proficient pedagogy. All school stakeholders have high expectations of our students which you will model. Applicants will have high aspirations and should be able to reinforce skills, academy-wide, providing a positive impact on student attainment and progress.

Wellfield School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Wingate, County Durham. It is a community state school that provides 1,200 places for students between the ages of 11 and 16 when fully subscribed.  Wellfield School is part of New College Durham Academies Trust.
