About Role

The Head of Performing Arts is responsible for the development of the Arts programme beyond the curriculum. This person will work in conjunction with the Elementary and Secondary Heads of Creatives, who have responsibility for the Arts within the Curriculum.

Overview:

1.  This individual will oversee, and lead, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders:

a.  School Productions and Concerts

b.  The Qidi and beyond the curriculum Creatives programmes (in collaboration with the Head(s) of Qidi)

c.  All other Performing Arts opportunities from the DCI group and beyond.

d.  Establishing and overseeing a peripatetic music program and music exams (ABRSM/Rock School)

Post-holder Qualifications, Experience

Responsibilities

•  Develop and maintain the overall quality and range of Performing Arts activities beyond the curriculum

•  Work with the Head(s) of Qidi and Head(s) of Creatives to ensure the appropriate balance and range of opportunities for students across the School beyond the curriculum.

•  Develop and coordinate the Performing Arts activities provision

•  To oversee the beyond the curriculum provision of the Creative Arts Faculty through assisting and guiding the planning and implementation of events, festivals and rehearsals, as required. 

•  To oversee and coordinate external performing events in and out of the group (e.g. Diversity).

•  To liaise with the IB coordinator to ensure that all students can meet the aims and objectives of the IB diploma through the beyond the curriculum Arts provision on offer within the school.

•  To ensure the effective provision of leadership opportunities for students within the beyond the curriculum creative arts programme in conjunction with the University Guidance Counsellor. 

•  To ensure that the quality of all beyond the curriculum activities is in line with school expectations through thorough monitoring and quality assurance measures.

•  Establishing and overseeing a peripatetic music program and music exams.

•  Competence to orally and verbally communicate with parents in a professional context

•  Lead and/or support a minimum of one (1) co-curricular activity 

•  Attend and participate constructively in staff meetings

•  Participate (including preparing students/activities) in the wider life of the school, such as assemblies, celebrations, extra-curricular events and so on

•  Collaborate with colleagues across Dehong schools and Dulwich College International to share best practices around the network and participate in group-wide events as appropriate

•  Support service learning and sustainability practices, events and programmes

•  Other teaching and learning related tasks as determined by the Principal
