Malvern College Egypt is seeking to appoint an experienced and successful leader to the role of Head of Primary. This post has arisen as a result of our current Head of Primary deciding to move back to the UK after two successful leadership posts overseas. We are looking for an inspirational individual who will lead the next exciting phase of the College’s development.
Essential requirements – you must:
· Have a proven track record of success in a senior leadership role and have the experience that will command the respect of pupils, parents, colleagues and the wider community
· Have a leadership style based on appreciating, supporting and nurturing the talents of those around you
· Be sensitive to the cultural differences you will find in Egypt and be willing to develop and maintain a cross cultural approach to work
· Be an experienced teacher and understand the needs of children aged 3 to 11
· Be an effective and influential communicator not only with native English speakers, but also with those from other cultural backgrounds
· Be committed to the protection and safeguarding of those in your care
· Be flexible, resilient and able to work well under pressure and manage your time effectively
· Be enthusiastic, possess a good sense of humour and have an open-minded approach to ways of working
· Relish the challenge of working in a young and growing school
· Be passionate and ambitious about the success of Malvern College Egypt
· Have an understanding and sympathy with the aims and ethos of British independent schools in general and Malvern College in particular
Desirable requirements:
· Hold a higher degree and/or management qualification
· Have experience in teaching children for whom English is an additional language
· Have experience of teaching outside the UK
· Be able to speak some Arabic
Your job will be:
· To be part of the College Leadership Team of Malvern College Egypt and to assist the Headmaster of Malvern College Egypt in building an institution with an outstanding local and national reputation
· To attract, retain and develop educational and managerial talent in the Primary School
· To pursue and encourage outstanding academic performance for all your pupils
· To work with the staff and pupils to create a hard-working and happy ethos based on mutual respect
· To be responsible for the academic life of the Primary school from EYFS to the end of KS2, ensuring the curriculum is appropriate, planned and delivered along with the necessary accreditations
· To be responsible for the pastoral life of the Primary School ensuring that pupils and staff are cared for, supported and nurtured
· To maintain good discipline in the Primary School
· To work with all stakeholders to develop and implement the strategic direction of the Primary School
· To review and embed all necessary policies, systems and procedures for the smooth running of the Primary School
· To drive the marketing and admissions process for the Primary School with an adherence to quality and to develop and sustain good relations with parents
· To promote the values and ethos of Malvern College
· In conjunction with the Headmaster of Malvern College Egypt, to work with all stakeholders in developing and maintaining excellent external relations with the communities of Cairo and the wider communities in Egypt and beyond

About Malvern College Egypt
Malvern College Egypt, a British International School in Cairo, opened our doors to our first students in August 2016. Due to continued growth, we have a number of exciting employment opportunities available.
The Curriculum in our Early Years and Primary school follows the English National Curriculum, enhanced and adapted to meet local requirements. In the Secondary school, our students will follow the English National Curriculum in Years 7-8, IGCSE in Years 9-10/11, and either the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or A levels in Years 11 12/13. In Egypt schooling can end in Year 12 rather than Year 13, with MCE offering both 12 and 13 year pathways.
