Job overview

We are looking for a Head who will lead and inspire our warm and friendly community to exceed the aspirations of our ambitious pupils and their families. The role would suit a nurturing and collaborative leader whose passion for excellent teaching and learning complements a hunger to instil curiosity and confidence in all our pupils.

You will lead a dedicated and professional team as they ready our children to progress to their preferred choice for the next phase of their education.

Sacks Morasha is an innovative Jewish primary school, founded in 2008, with a commitment to modern-orthodox Jewish practice, a love of Israel, and active involvement within both the Jewish and the wider British community.

The school is part of the Jewish Community Academy Trust. You will be part of a team of Headteachers who work together, supporting each other to maximise performance. A central finance and HR team allows you to focus on teaching and learning, while the MAT offers the potential for professional development.

The Governing Body is open-minded about the background of our next Head. Above all, we seek a passion for academic excellence, accompanied by the skills to lead the school, including during a forthcoming building project.

Candidates who wish to visit the school are very welcome, and we have set aside the week commencing November 22nd for individual tours. Please email Headteacher-recruitment@morashajps.org.uk to reserve your preferred option, and you are also welcome to use it to arrange an informal chat with our Chair of Governors, Zoë Silverman.

Application packs are available at https://sacksmorasha.org.uk/about/recruitment/. Completed applications should be submitted to Headteacher-recruitment@morashajps.org.uk by noon on December 6th. Interviews will be held on Monday and, if necessary, Tuesday December 13th and 14th.

About Sacks Morasha Jewish Primary School

Sacks Morasha Jewish Primary School is a innovative modern-orthodox Jewish primary school serving the London Jewish community with outstanding teaching staff and a track record of academic excellence.

It promotes a commitment to orthodox Jewish practice, a love of and commitment to Israel and active involvement within the Jewish community, the British community and the wider world.

History of the School

Sacks Morasha Jewish Primary School was the brainchild of several Finchley families who recognised both the need for a new type of modern orthodox school and to have a local Jewish school. The school opened in 2008 with just seven pupils and was housed in both Moss Hall and the Finchley United Synagogue before moving in 2013 to its new site in Stanhope Road, North Finchley. It was initially a private school, but became a voluntary aided school in 2013 under Barnet Local Authority. In 2019 it became part of JCAT, the Jewish Community Academy Trust.

Sacks Morasha has grown in popularity and reputation and now has over 200 pupils. The school has always prided itself on being a nurturing and warm community school, passionate about achieving excellent results in both Chol (secular) and Kodesh (Jewish) studies. It is a school that recognises the importance of being part of the wider and global communities. We pride ourselves on our innovative approach to education, integrating where possible between Chol and Kodesh to provide meaningful links between the two subjects.
