Creating a cluster of remarkable Bradford Schools

Beckfoot Trust are seeking to appoint a Headteacher at Beckfoot Oakbank School from September 2018. 

Beckfoot Oakbank is part of the Beckfoot Trust, which has a vision to create a cluster of remarkable schools all within the Bradford district. Our 9 schools are all comprehensive in character and cross mainstream secondary/ primary and special sectors. The Trust is already having significant impact and we are excited about the potential of a school led model to transform learning environments across our group of schools so that all of our young people and staff will flourish.

Beckfoot Oakbank is an 11-18 co-ed school with approximately 1500 students. It is located in Keighley. It joined the Trust in September 2016. The school is well regarded locally and joined the Trust because of its ambition to create a great school and improve rapidly. The school moves into a brand new £30m purpose built campus at Easter.

To be able to lead the school, together with the support and development opportunities afforded by Beckfoot Trust will ensure a richly rewarding role for the successful applicant. In return, we want an outward looking leader who can play a full part in shaping not only the development of Beckfoot Oakbank but work in partnership with other leaders across the Trust to help us all to progress together. 

The role may attract a candidate with Headship / Head of School experience or an ambitious talented Deputy Headteacher in a similar type of school looking to move onto the next phase of their career.  The successful candidate will fully grasp what it means to lead a school within a Multi Academy Trust and be someone with the talent, energy and determination to make a profound and lasting positive difference to our pupils, staff and wider community. Critically we want to appoint someone who wants to be shaped into a great leader, is a team player and is in it for the long term.
