The Governors wish to appoint an exceptional leader who has the vision, enthusiasm and innovative thinking to continue to drive Hazeldown School forward, building on our existing strengths.

We are an enthusiastic, aspirational primary school in the Devon coastal town of Teignmouth where all staff encourage our pupils to aim high and follow their dreams. We support our children to become well-rounded individuals by teaching them the importance of values, mindset and metacognition alongside providing exciting curriculum opportunities.

There is a clear focus on inclusion and a very real ambition to ensure that every child achieves to their highest ability and is prepared for their next stage in learning.

Hazeldown is situated on the edge of Teignmouth on a site which provides a stimulating and nurturing environment for our children. We have an excellent reputation in our community and a passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for all children. 

The new Headteacher will be someone who:

•           can provide clear, ambitious and strategic leadership with a strong moral purpose;

•           has a solid record of raising standards and school improvement;

•           is forward thinking, creative, innovative and a visionary school leader;

•           has high expectations of children and staff and can motivate and inspire all members of the school community;

•           is committed to inclusion and equality, ensuring that teaching meets the needs of each and every one of our children;

•           will lead a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring the welfare of children and staff;

•           is an effective communicator, able to interact with all stakeholders and the wider community; and

•           has strong financial management skills and can approach this area with confidence.
