We are looking for a strong, supportive and caring headteacher to embrace the vision, ethos and values of Madley Brook School.

At Madley Brook, you will find a real community of staff, parents and governors dedicated to valuing each pupil. Staff and pupil wellbeing is an important aspect of school life.

Inclusivity and integration are central themes of our school, and we are fortunate to be co-located with Springfield Special School. This adds a unique dimension to the headteacher role at Madley Brook.

Our aim is to provide learning opportunities that will develop the whole child, encouraging children to have limitless aspirations, a passion for learning, and a sense of fun and enjoyment. Our new headteacher will be able to drive forward school improvement and deliver the school’s strategic vision with energy, positivity and enthusiasm.

Key dates for your diary:

● Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 March: interviews

Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the school for an opportunity to meet with staff, children and governors. To arrange a visit (to be carried out in line with Covid regulations), please contact the school office on 01993 862 976 or admin@madleybrook.org.

There is also the opportunity to arrange an informal chat with the Chair of Governors before submitting your application. Please book at https://calendly.com/edwardkay/headteacher.

Please use the supporting statement in the application form to outline why you would like to be the next headteacher at Madley Brook Primary School, explaining how your existing skills, knowledge and experience meet the requirements as set out in the person specification.

Shortlisted candidates will be advised on the structure of the interview days, along with the relevant tasks and activities via email by Wednesday 16 February 2022. Further shortlisting will take place at the end of the first interview day.

Madley Brook Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and other pre-employment checks.

Welcome to Madley Brook Community Primary School. Our school has a very clear vision at its heart:

‘Achieving excellence by challenging boundaries’

Our aim is to value each pupil. To provide learning opportunities that will develop the whole child. We will encourage them to have limitless aspirations, to have a passion for learning and to enjoy life and above all, have a sense of fun.

Our vision and aims are intricately thread through the lifeblood of the school – through the lessons that we teach, the activities we undertake and the additional opportunities that we offer to each child.

The school works alongside Springfield Special School. Both schools are based on the site known as The Bronze Barrow chosen to reflect the historical nature of the area. The schools are built around the site of a Bronze Age burial ground, hence, the horseshoe shape of the building. The two schools co-exist yet maintain their own individual identities, staff, governing bodies and pupils.
