Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Languages

We are looking to appoint a HLTA to join the Languages department to support with the progress and learning of students across all key stages. 

At Ashmole Academy, Languages are an integral part of our curriculum and are highly valued by our school community. We aim to equip students with the skills and cultural capital that they need to succeed in life, encouraging pupils to appreciate and celebrate difference as well as providing a framework for further language learning. HLTAs play an integral role in supporting the department with in-class student support, faculty admin and delivering cover lessons; many HLTA’s also go on to pursue a career in teaching at the school after gaining experience in the role.

Under the direction and supervision of teaching staff, the successful candidate will also provide learning support and assistance to pupils in the classroom and may also work with small groups of pupils and on a one-to-one basis. The role of HLTA is an excellent opportunity to inspire and motivate young people throughout their secondary education.

The successful candidate may have a French or Spanish related degree; will have a passion to inspire and maintain high quality teaching and learning and have a flexible approach to their job role. This may be suitable for candidates who are considering a career in teaching and the School Direct Programme.
