Leader of Rainbow Base, Resource Provision

Leadership 4-8 - £50,807 - £56,082

Richmond Hill Academy are seeking to recruit an inspirational Leader of Rainbow Base Resource Provision to join our academy.

Due to the exciting growth of our specialist provisions within The GORSE Academies Trust, which has seen Rainbow Base expand from 22 to 52 places over the last five years, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional Leader for Rainbow Base, who has an outstanding record of achievement and is committed to the success of this Resource Provision.

We are a provision which currently caters for the needs of 52 pupils with complex communication needs and/or autism. We are passionate about providing the best for our pupils and supporting them to become life-long, enthusiastic learners. We are seeking to appoint an individual who can continue to build on the outstanding practice currently in place for our wonderful children.

This candidate will join a team of other specialist leaders across our trust as we grow our number of resource provisions to three over the next two years, providing education and support for over 130 pupils with Autism across the three sites.

This is an exceptional opportunity with its own unique challenges. However, the right candidates will be undaunted by these challenges and will relish the prospect of continuing to embed this provision as a beacon of excellence within Leeds.

Richmond Hill Academy is now a 'good' school with many areas of our work graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted. The transformation of our school has been possible due to the remarkable skill and commitment of our staff members and the support of our whole community.

If you have the skills to teach pupils with complex needs to the highest quality and to embed a learning culture that enables children to become enthusiastic and independent learners, then this is the role for you!

You will be an outstanding practitioner who:

·      is dedicated to raising standards and is able to demonstrate highly effective teaching skills

·      demonstrates excellent and innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching and learning

·      can demonstrate the ability to plan an exciting, inspiring curriculum

·      who recognises parents as vital partners in learning and is committed to building strong relationships.

The successful candidate will also have the following experience and attributes:

·      Qualified Teacher Status.

·      A proven track record of achieving academic excellence.

·      Evidence of implementing innovative approaches to learning, particularly in regard to children with ASD.

·      Experience of meeting the needs of children and young people who may benefit from specialist provision within a mainstream setting.

·      Resilience, energy and optimism.

Do you want to be part of our team and make a real difference to the lives of children in Leeds?

If you feel that you have the necessary experience, skills and abilities, we look forward to hearing from you.

As a trust, we want to ensure that professionals at every stage in their career have the opportunity to enjoy expert support and training. We are pleased to offer a generous benefits package to our team – as we work together to create a rewarding future for all including:

  • Membership to a local government pension scheme.
  • A commitment to continued investment in our professionals, supporting every member of staff throughout their career in the trust.
