We have a fantastic opportunity at our Caledonia North Campus for an experienced and interactive Learning Support Coordinator to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.

With small class sizes, excellent facilities, outstanding behaviour and a values-based ethos to support staff and student wellbeing, you will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson.

Our students are provided with innovative teaching, empowered by new technology, including Zoom and the Learning Management System ‘Canvas’. Aligned with local curriculum, our students are supported by teachers to take ownership of their learning as part of our Self-Directed Learning pedagogy. We are looking for conscientious and hard-working individuals who are passionate about modern education and pay meticulous attention to detail.

 

You will:

· Be a qualified teacher with (or eligible for) GTCS registration

· Have experience of teaching a range of pupils with additional support needs

· Have an understanding and knowledge of various additional support needs  

· Have experience of working with children at primary and/or secondary age.

· Be sensitive to the needs of children and be trustworthy and discreet maintaining confidentiality

· Uphold and promulgate the OSG ethos within all areas of responsibility

Key responsibilities:

· This is an opportunity to undertake operational leadership of learning support on the campus. This includes line management, training and deployment of learning support staff and communication with campus colleagues and parents regarding the needs of students

· Operational responsibility for the day to day running of Learning Support across the school

· Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupil’s learning.

· Lead a team of ASN Teachers and/or Support Assistants in the planning, delivering, evaluation and review of the Learning Support

· Ensure communication between teachers and parents is highly effective in meeting students’ needs and bringing support strategies between school and home

· Prepare for, chair and follow up annual reviews for pupils on our Learning Support Register

· Make sure all evidence of progress against pupil targets is detailed, accurate and demonstrates the impact upon the students’ outcomes

· Work with staff, students and parents to ensure pupils are set meaningful targets for improvement and monitor and review them appropriately

· To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role
