Job overview

We are welcoming applications for a Lecturer/Team Leader in Art & Design on a Full or Part Time permanent basis. Full Time/ Part Time, and permanent basis. Your main duties will involve delivering to students working towards Level 1 & 2 vocational qualifications but may also include teaching on Level 3. In addition, for experienced lecturers, there is an opportunity to combine this post with a Team Leader role where you will be responsible for leading the Level 1 & 2 teams.

Joining us as a lecturer you must deliver excellent and inclusive teaching and learning in the classroom to inspire learners to succeed and progress. You will integrate appropriate and inspirational curriculum resources including: Information Learning Technology (ILT) into lessons and plan delivery so that schemes of work, lesson plans, high-quality formative and summative assessments support achievement.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in an Art & Design specialism, you must have experience of successful teaching (or teaching practice for ECT’s) in Art & Design and hold a teaching qualification or professional recognition in learning and skills.

Some industry experience is preferred however, the successful candidate must have a broad creative knowledge. Experience across 2D, 3D and digital specialisms and knowledge of the UAL Creative curriculum would be advantageous.

The role requires an individual with the ability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning and inspire, motivate and engage a range of learners. Capable of producing effective schemes of work and lesson plans, you should demonstrate a background of inclusive and challenging teaching strategies to meet learners’ individual needs.
