Job overview
‘Staff are well supported by strong professional networks, and training opportunities through the trust, the teaching school alliance and other relationships with schools and agencies’ Ofsted 2016
Tendring Technology College (TTC) is a community where inspirational teaching, self-evaluation and self-improvement are evident from the moment you enter our school. We welcome all routes into teaching through School Direct, PGCE and we are a host school to Ambition School Leadership.
Our students are diverse, exciting and talented – and the same is true of our staff. We put huge emphasis on professional development, most of it in-house, and are proud of the high number of good and outstanding teachers who work in our school.
Our dedicated teaching and support staff are very much part of the team and are part of the strong culture we have at TTC.
We are also noted for our ‘can do’ attitude. We are keen, always, to encourage new and/or young staff to make their mark as soon as they are ready.
We are proud to serve the communities around Frinton-on-sea and Thorpe-Le-Soken as an 11-18 school which has two campuses; Frinton Campus (14-18) and Thorpe Campus (11-14). Ofsted judged us as a ‘good academy’ in March 2016.
In 2017 we celebrated 58% of our students obtaining 4+s in either English and maths. We know that they can do even better. We want TTC to lead the way in teaching excellence and for all our staff and students to develop their maximum potential. Get on board and make a real difference to our children and to your career.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to lead our MFL department. You will be an exceptional classroom teacher who demonstrates high standards of delivery in a consistent manner, who is committed to improving achievement across all key stages and who understands the strategies required to accomplish this. If you are a strong leader with a passion for languages, the ability to inspire both staff and students whilst striving for excellence we would love to hear from you. You will be enthusiastic, have a winning personality and have an imaginative approach to the delivery of the curriculum area.
We encourage visits from prospective candidates to meet members of our school community and to experience out school at first hand. If you would like to do this please contact Julia McFarlane at the College on 01255 682040 or email hr@tendringtechnologycollege.org

About Tendring Technology College

Tendring Technology College is a large split site comprehensive school for students aged 11-18, located in the pleasant village of Thorpe-le-Soken and the historic town of Frinton-on-Sea. The mix of this rural and coastal location is a lovely backdrop for our young people and at the same time there is easy access to Colchester, the oldest recorded town in the country, and the capital itself, London.
Thorpe Campus is situated in the village of Thorpe-le-Soken. It serves students aged 11-14. Our Frinton Campus serves the needs of students aged 14-19. We take children from a large area surrounding the College. This includes Thorpe-le-Soken, Kirby-le-Soken, Kirby Cross, Great Holland, Little Clacton, Weeley, Tendring, Little Bentley, Wix, Beaumont, Great Oakley, Frinton-on-Sea, Walton-on-the-Naze as well as a number of students who travel from much further afield including Harwich, Alresford and Colchester.
Tendring Technology College is an academy and it converted in August 2011. The school was judged to be ‘inadequate’ following an Ofsted inspection in November. The outcome was ‘serious weaknesses’ rather than ‘special measures’ in recognition of the fact that the trust and school leaders were taking the right actions to improve the school and had effective capacity to do so.
