History & Ethos

We are a ‘successful modern learning community’, providing outstanding education to around 2,000, 16-19 year old students.  The College enjoys an excellent reputation both locally and nationally.  Students make excellent progress and achieve outstanding results whilst at College but also feel prepared for their future and are more likely to gain a better class degree than those from other educational sectors and sixth form colleges.

Location

Godalming is a historic market town situated on the River Wey and close to the beautiful countryside of the Surrey Hills. The College is within walking distance of Godalming Town Centre and the Railway station.  Godalming is readily accessed from the A3 and free car-parking is available to staff on the College campus.

College Leadership Team & Staff

The Principal Emma Young is supported by the Senior Management Team. The college employs around 200 teaching and support staff who are committed to supporting students to achieve their goals through a broad mix of programmes and extra-curricular activities. There is a strong sense of community at the College with a lively, vibrant feel to the campus.

Facilities

Our campus is now second-to-none in offering modern, attractive, stimulating spaces in which to work and learn. We are constantly maintaining and upgrading facilities and have invested £15 million in new buildings in recent years. We have invested substantially in developing high quality IT and award winning online infrastructure, which means that student learning is supported by the best that technology can offer.

CPD

We understand that our success comes from developing our staff and supporting them to deliver innovative and individualised lessons. Godalming, along with other sixth form colleges in Surrey & Sussex belongs to a consortium known as S7 who work closely together to provide specifically tailored training and development for staff and facilitate meetings for specific groups and an annual teaching conference.
