This opportunity is suitable for both Primary and Secondary Teachers.

We are seeking a nurture class teacher with enthusiasm, creativity and a passion for teaching to join our team to deliver and support the education of some of our most vulnerable students at the Academy.

This is a great opportunity for a teacher who wants to develop creative learning opportunities for children with additional, varied and complex needs.

Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, working with pupils who require extra support with learning. This role is unique in style, being open to both primary and secondary colleagues.

Aims and purpose of the role

This is an established and exciting role within our academy designed to provide intervention and support for our most academically vulnerable students. Primarily, the role will be to teach 2 nurture groups, to ensure their KS3 readiness, in years 7 and 8 to develop literacy and numeracy skills and track their progress.

The role will entail working with smaller than average groups of students for a large part of their week to prepare them for a wider range of lessons and ultimately GCSE studies.

Main Duties Include

  • Plan differentiated work to meet the needs of individuals and groups promoting progression, continuity and quality of learning by having clear intentions for children’s learning and by using your knowledge of school policies and National Curriculum requirements.  
  • Support the pastoral needs of the students, creating a safe nurturing space within your classroom that allows students to grow as people and develop a positive sense of self concept, emotional resilience and positive self-esteem.
  • Accurately assess need, deliver teaching reflective of need, and measure targeted incremental progress, in order that students are prepared for transition and integration into their next appropriate phase of education.

Candidate

You need to be calm, efficient, and highly organised, with the flexibility and confidence to work widely across our academy is also essential. The role will involve close communication with the English and Maths departments.
