Outstanding Part Time BTEC Learning Assistant (August 2024)

Dubai British School Emirates Hills is recruiting an outstanding Part Time BTEC Learning Assistant, to join their BSO, and KHDA rated 'Outstanding' international school. 

This is a part time role (three full days per week).

DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum

Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC and GCE A Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. We feel the opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive and varied Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.

Recruiting - Part time BTEC Learning Assistant

At DBSEH, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, engaging and committed Outstanding Part Time BTEC Learning Assistant who have a proven track record of supporting children and teaching staff. Experience of the National Curriculum for England in the UK; with additional experience in an international setting is considered an advantage.

Aside from experience, personality is very important, we look for inspirational support staff who leave a lasting impression on students for years to follow. If you're able to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative and dynamic attitude then we want to hear from you!

Professional Requirements

Ability to effectively engage with and support students aged 16–18 who are following the BTEC pathway, including providing 1:1 or small group support. Familiarity with the BTEC curriculum is highly desirable.

Proven experience in supporting students with assignments and ensuring they meet deadlines.

Proficient in English, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills.

Collaborative mindset with the capability to work closely and harmoniously with BTEC Staff, fostering a conducive learning environment.

Prior experience or aptitude for working with students is advantageous, with preference given to candidates with teaching or teaching assistant experience.

Education:

Due to KHDA regulations, we can only employ individuals with a minimum of High School education in English and Maths; degree preferred.
