Job overview

Are you ready to join a vibrant and successful school community dedicated to nurturing both pupils and teachers? At Days Lane Primary School, we pride ourselves on providing an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for children aged three to eleven. With a tradition of high academic standards and a diverse range of enrichment activities.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of recruitment, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. Our core values - Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, Compassion, Community, and Excellence - guide everything we do, fostering a culture of mutual respect and continuous improvement.

We provide a foundation for life in a happy, high achieving school, where all individuals have high expectations of themselves, respect each other and strive to excel, as demonstrated by our recent Ofsted which rated behaviour and attitude as outstanding.

The school offers a wide range of learning experiences based on a progressive and exciting curriculum, which we continually evaluate and develop. We believe passionately in providing a blend of academic challenge, moral development and enrichment that allows for the holistic development of each child in our care and recognise the importance of every child as a unique individual, each with their own gifts and talents.

It is our aim to build a successful partnership with parents so that our learners are given every possible opportunity to flourish. We nurture good behaviour through building relationships with pupils and engaging them in exciting learning experiences. We are a school to which the whole community, children, staff, parents and governors are proud to belong.

The Role

We're seeking a creative Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 1 class teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a job share role for 2 days per week working pattern, which can be discussed at interview. Whether you're an experienced educator or just beginning your career, we offer personalised induction, ongoing support, and professional development opportunities to help you thrive. If you're passionate about making a difference, inspiring young minds, and contributing to the wider life of the school, we want to hear from you.

In return, we offer:

  • Professional development opportunities
  • PPA time with year group colleagues, above the recommended time
  • Shared cohort planning
  • A determination to create a positive work-life balance for all staff
  • Support to accelerate your career to middle and senior leadership
  • A vibrant school with high standards and expectations
  • Children who are happy, responsive and eager to learn
  • Access to a range of additional benefits in the Bexley my choice scheme - which includes savings on travel, cinema and shopping.
  • Each teacher is allocated their own laptop for planning, preparation and assessment, ensuring you have the tools you need to succeed.
