Are you looking for a new opportunity? Want to make an impact at a new school at the very beginning of its journey? Spring School opening September 2023 is looking for a School Wide Positive Behaviour Support to join us and help us provide an excellent education for all our learners.

The Spring School will be a part of the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust, which was established as a multi-academy trust to develop new free schools. In 2020, the Trust was chosen to develop a new special free school for autistic children and young people in Chessington. Spring School will be a place where autistic children can learn, thrive, achieve, and belong

Spring School is looking for an empathetic and adaptable individual, who thrives under pressure and has a natural ability to solve challenges. You will also need physical and emotional resilience to work with young people with a primary diagnosis of Autism, some of whom have other complex needs.

 Your role as a SW-PBS Practitioner:

  • Work directly with all pupils in both our Primary and Secondary phases proactively to increase their access to teaching and learning and respond to incidents as they occur.
  • Train, motivate and practically support our staff teams to be confident and skilled in working with our pupils who have behaviours that challenge, to empower staff to deliver the support that is effective and has a real impact.
  • Ensure consistency in approach of implementing the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support framework across Spring School
  • Develop innovative and person-centred approaches to teach pupils new skills that will enable them to have fulfilled and active lives, thereby reducing the probability of challenging behaviour.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Head of school, contribute to delivery of School-Wide PBS strategy at Spring school through: Staff training and development; Behaviour Support Planning and Implementation; Incident analysis; Staff team debriefs following incidents.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral), accountable for ongoing training of specialist TLAs in Positive Behavioural Support systems.

The Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust that shares Ambitious about Autism’s vision and mission. Through the Trust, we are developing more schools to reach the autistic children and young people who need our specialist support.

In 2014, the trust set up our first special free school, The Rise School, in west London. In 2023, the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust opened Spring School, a new special free school in Kingston, south west London. Spring School is dedicated to educating autistic pupils aged 4–19.
