Our School is situated in the Georgian town of Holt and sits within 200 acres of glorious countryside. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk Coast just a few miles away.


We are seeking to appoint a kind, caring, reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Houseparent who will join the team at our vibrant Prep School. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced staff looking after girls and boys aged between 7 and 13, who are a mix of both day pupils and boarders.


The role of the Assistant Houseparent is an extension of the Boarding House Tutor role, incorporating duties traditionally carried out in some boarding schools by Matrons and always supporting the work of the Houseparents to ensure that the House functions in accordance with all Boarding and School policies.

About Gresham's School

Gresham’s is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18. It is situated in the Georgian town of Holt in beautiful countryside, just three miles from the breathtaking North Norfolk coast.

The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham who forged close ties with The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. On his death, he left the school in their care and strong links with them and the City of London remain to this day.

The school enjoys a generous campus with excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art music building (Britten) with its own recording studio, indoor and outdoor performance spaces including a theatre (Auden), multi-surface sports pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool, sports hall and shooting range. The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The school has an impressive list of Old Greshamians including the composer Benjamin Britten, the poet WH Auden, Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman and international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs, to name but a few.
