We are looking for an outstanding Head of Care, Guidance & Support (encompassing the role of SENDCO) to join our British School Team from 1 September 2024.

The Head of Care, Guidance & Support is a new, expansion role for our school for Academic Year 2024-2025. One of our whole school priorities is continuing to improve differentiation. We have been working to develop our student data, and curriculum pathways, so as to enable our provision to best meet the needs of all our students.

The successful candidate will lead,extend and refine the quality of SEND provision across El Alsson British School, ensuring that we continue to offer our students outstanding support. The role will span the whole school (FS1 - Year 13), and will be positioned to include membership of leadership teams in both the Primary and Secondary Schools. Leading our team of Learning Support Teachers will fall within the scope of the Head of Care, Guidance & Support, as will liaison with Assistant Headteachers, and both the Primary and Secondary Headteachers. The role will include a teaching component in the Secondary School, as well as both overseeing, and conducting Access Arrangements testing, to satisfy JCQ requirements. Leading Professional Learning activities for staff and parents will also form part of the scope of this role.

As El Alsson moves into Academic Year 2024-2025, we would like to better coordinate our SEND provision so as to enable our students and staff to continue to excel. We look forward to enabling the successful candidate to bring their ideas and demonstrate their creativity, whilst also continuing to develop existing provision.

El  Alsson British and American International Schools NEW GIZA is a private international school offering the choice between British and American education. El  Alsson British and American International School encourages pupils to take part in extra-curricular activities. These include rugby, basketball, volleyball and football. Academic success is valued by the school. The British School follows both the English National Curriculum and the International Early Years & Primary Curriculum, International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, IGCSE & GCSE and GCE and IAL qualifications for students from FS1 to Year 13. The school also teaches the Egyptian national curriculum for Arabic studies, Social studies and Religion. Children at El Alsson are happy and achieve high academic standards and are respectful to all and  be tolerant to those in the diverse community they live within. Teachers nurture and support the students.
