Job overview

We are excited to be in a position to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Science Technician to our science department. Our science faculty offers a full range of science courses from KS3-KS5, including three A-Level Sciences, as well as a Level 3 BTEC Applied Science course.

A successful candidate will:

  • Prepare and assist with practicals for successful science lessons
  • Organisation and maintenance of specialist equipment and resources
  • Assist teaching staff with practical and examination work
  • Support students throughout their education, including with project work Manage an orderly prep room, including stock levels, subscriptions, classroom resources, and more
  •  Develop and implement safe working procedures and risk assessments for laboratory activities, in accordance with health and safety regulations
  •  Contribute to the development and review of science curriculum materials, resources, and practical activities.
  •  Line manage our Science Technician and student helpers, delegating tasks and responsibilities as required
  • Work closely with all stakeholders involved, including the Team Leader of Science, the science department, and site staff

We can offer a salary between £21,223-£23,484 per annum Actual (FTE £24,702-27,334) negotiable depending on relevant experience. The position is 37 hour per week term time only

Applicants should hold GCSE Science, English and Maths to Grade C (4) or above.
