This is a exciting opportunity to join our Special Educational Needs Team in this essential in a thriving inclusive school in the heart of Mid Devon.
We are looking for a dynamic, inspiring and capable Teaching Assistant who has a genuine passion for working with students with SEN, and in particular SCLN.
You will work under the guidance of the SENDCo and Higher Level TA in SCLN within an agreed system of supervision to implement agreed work programmes with individuals and in small groups in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management and preparation of resources.
The role is 28.85 hrs per week, 38 weeks per year plus 2 training days
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with proven ability to assess, plan, support and monitor the progress of children with SEND alongside a team of highly experienced HLTAs and TAs the SENDCo who has the strategic oversight of the school’s SEND provision.

As an effective SCLN TA you will have experience in working with students with a speech, language and variety of special needs, including but not limited to physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioural disorders.
You will be able to liaise effectively with teachers, parents and external agencies to create and implement individualised education plans for each student with SEN.
