Job title:       Sports Coach

Location:     Red Moor School, Churchtown Farm, Lanlivery, PL30 5BT

Salary:          Up to £25,000 per annum depending on skills and experience

Hours:          40 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Contract:     Permanent, Term Time only – Part Time will be considered

About Us:

Red Moor School caters to SEMH pupils aged 6-19 across three sites. As we grow, we aim to empower neurodiverse students to find happiness and their path in the world. Our school fosters a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is supported on their unique educational journey, ensuring exceptional care and guidance to students with SEMH needs.

Role:

As a Sports Coach at Red Moor School, you will play a pivotal role in our dedicated team, using innovative approaches like PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and adaptive teaching methods to engage and motivate our students. You will create a stimulating and purposeful environment to help all students reach their potential.

Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Development: Plan, manage, and teach a diverse group of students, adapting to their emotional and educational needs. Implement a curriculum based on the school's scheme of work and deliver accredited courses.

Adaptive Teaching: Employ adaptive teaching strategies to accommodate a wide range of abilities, ensuring all students can achieve their best.

PACE Approach: Utilize the PACE approach in daily interactions, promoting an educational atmosphere where students feel secure, understood, and free to explore their capabilities.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, residential staff, and relevant multi-agencies to support student development and well-being.

Environment Management: Foster a well-ordered, calm environment that enhances learning and accommodates the specific needs of SEMH students.

Red Moor School is a specialist provision positioned near Lanlivery in mid-Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 36 children aged 5-16 who have social, emotional, mental health and communication difficulties or associated behaviours that challenge. Unable to achieve in a mainstream environment, our aim is to help pupils excel by providing a structured, nurturing approach, with students accessing a broad, balanced, engaging and extraordinarily rich curriculum.
