Winchester College seeks to appoint an inspirational printmaking teacher with the capacity and imagination to inspire, guide and challenge boys of all abilities. 

Working in well-equipped print studios, the successful candidate will deliver specialist courses displaying creativity, passion and a flair for printmaking.

They will exhibit excellent technical standards, a strong knowledge of contemporary practice, Art History and a competence in other media areas.

The conversion of its 1870s romantic, neo-medieval sanatorium has provided Winchester College with an Art School that has splendidly spacious, well-lit and fully equipped studios for ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.

The College, which was founded in 1382, is a boys’ boarding school of 700 pupils. We are committed to the highest standards of academic excellence, first-class pastoral care and the maintenance of a broad and balanced liberal education for all our pupils. Through our non-examined general cultural studies programme (known as Division) we offer an approach to education which develops an intelligent and critical awareness of the world, strong communication skills and a confident ability to think independently and with originality. Our pupils enjoy living in a community in which academic engagement is regarded as a priority; we aim to foster in them an enthusiastic appetite for university study, an unaffected modesty of manner, a strong sense of social responsibility and a lifelong love of learning. 

This post will suit teachers of the highest calibre who will relish the challenge of working with able and articulate pupils in a historic site of unparalleled architectural beauty in the heart of Winchester. All our full time teachers are expected to act as tutors in one of the boarding houses, thereby making a significant contribution to the pastoral care of our pupils. In addition to this, the successful applicant will be required to contribute in some capacity to our sports and co-curricular programme.

Situated in Hampshire, Winchester College is an independent, secondary school for pupils aged between 13 and 18. The school was founded in 1382 by the Bishop of Winchester, William of Wykeham. It was expanded in the 19th Century to accommodate the popular demand in the local society. At the moment, there are over 700 pupils enrolled at the boarding school.
