WMG Academy Coventry is a thriving ‘business-like, business-led’ education centre for aspiring young Engineers in key stages 4 &5, emphasising science, technology, engineering, and maths, offering GCSEs including core subjects and A Levels or Technical qualifications or both.  The career-based education engages students, helping them find their niche, reach their potential, and kickstart a career in the real world.

Who we’re looking for

A Science teacher with a passion for Chemistry, an outstanding classroom practitioner who consistently delivers the highest standards of teaching, and embraces the WMG vision of an integrated curriculum that ensures our students achieve the highest outcomes in Science.


You will have: (list as appropriate)

  • Postgraduate or further relevant professional studies in relevant subjects
  • Qualified teacher status
  • Experience of working knowledge of science in the National Curriculum.
  • The ability to maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
  • The ability to  inspire students in  Y10 to Y13
  • Excellent subject knowledge

About The WMG Academy for Young Engineers

The WMG Academy for Young Engineers is a University Technical College (UTC) in Coventry. The Academy teaches students between the ages of 14-18 and is sponsored by the University of Warwick and numerous local businesses. The Academy opened in 2014 with a total intake of 220 students in Years 10 and 12, and there are now over 500 students on the school roll. The Academy is overseen by the WMG Academy Trust, which also oversees a campus in Solihull. The WMG Academy Coventry operates from the site of the Westwood Academy, which has facilities such as astro-turf pitches.
