Teacher of Chemistry (Full time)

To start April 2023

 

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for their subject. The successful candidate will be an inspirational subject teacher with initiative, good communication skills and a willingness to contribute as part of an outstanding Science team. The appointee will be able to teach Chemistry to the full range of abilities up to A level. Applications are welcome from teachers who have the capability to teach up to A level but who have not yet had the opportunity to do so.

The ability to teach a second science to KS3 or GCSE would be advantageous but is not essential. Full consideration will be given to applicants who are new to the profession, as well as to more experienced teachers. The successful applicant will receive guidance and support in developing their careers. 

Wrekin College is a busy school set within its own attractive and spacious grounds.  A willingness to be involved fully in the school’s co-curricular programme and the whole life of the school is important. This will include Saturday morning activities and an evening boarding duty.  Accommodation may be available for the successful candidate.

Wrekin College is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11-18 situated in beautiful Wellington, Shropshire. It is part of the Allied Group of schools and is also a member of HMC. With interest in Wrekin at an all-time high, we now have circa 570 pupils pupils on roll.

Wrekin College was first opened in 1880 by philanthropist and businessman Sir John Bayley, in the Shropshire market town Wellington. It started out as a boys-only school; girls were admitted to the sixth form in 1975 and to the rest of the school in 1983.
