The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools providing quality, holistic education to a multinational student body of approximately 1250 students and 240 faculty and staff. The school is organised into two Streams, German and English leading to qualifications in the German International Abitur and I/GCSE & IBDP respectively. TEACHER OF SOCIAL &  CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY (SCA) [IBDP]

(English International Stream – Secondary School)

 

Role description

The successful applicant will be required to teach SCA to our senior students as part of the IB Diploma Programme. This is part-time position (approximately 0.5 of a full teaching load).

 

There is the potential for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for a full time teaching position at GSIS, encompassing the SCA role. Such candidates should be able and prepared to teach other subjects in addition to SCA and should indicate as such in the opening section of their application letter.

 

What is required and what we’re looking for

·        Teacher qualification

·        Minimum of 5 years full time teaching experience preferred

·        Experience of, or knowledge of, the IB Diploma Programme and SCA as a subject within this programme

·        For candidates seeking a full-time position, the ability and experience to teach another subject, such as Theory of Knowledge, is required. History and/or Economics, to younger students and to I/GCSE level as required

·        Excellent English speaker with sound written and oral communication skills

·        Culturally sensitive, tolerant and collaborative

·        Positive, proactive, independent work ethic
