Position Information 

Baulkham Hills North Public School is a dynamic Kindergarten to Year 6 primary school located in the Hills district of North-Western Sydney. The current enrolment is 916 students including 66% from a non-English speaking background. This position will require the successful applicant to take on a teaching role in a multi-categorical support unit within our school community. The unit will cater for students with moderate to high learning support needs including students with intellectual, mental health, physical, and sensory disabilities and behaviour disorders.  This newly created position requires someone with a passion for fostering inclusivity and supporting the diverse needs of students.  The support unit teachers will be part of a team that collaborates closely with school executive, staff, external stakeholders and the community to develop and promote student well-being and academic success for students attending the support unit. The Baulkham Hills North staff is enthusiastic, dedicated and caring, setting high expectations for every student and, in partnership with parents, developing resilient and engaged learners.  The school has a high-level commitment to digital transformation.  In addition, Baulkham Hills North Public School offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities. The school community is supportive and involved in all events, actively supporting the values and mission of the school.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

1.  Approval to teach special education and/or experience in working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, sensory and physical disabilities, challenging behaviours and healthcare needs.

2.  Demonstrated ability to design, differentiate, implement and evaluate personalised learning plans which drive improvements in literacy and numeracy outcomes and engage students while meeting their diverse learning needs.

3.  Demonstrated capacity to implement effective student well-being strategies which promote engagement and contribute to productive and safe learning environments.

4. Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive and productive relationships with staff, families, students, external agencies and the community.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
