Job overview

Over the 18 months, under the leadership of Sean Castle, incremental steps towards big changes have been happening at Fairfax Academy. Sean’s ambition, drive and relentless focus on improvement for the Academy has resulted in clear and robust strategies being put in place, all of which are underpinned by the Academy’s values: Ambition, Respect, Kindness, Safety.

 The results speak for themselves:

  • Attendance is nearly 2% above the national average of 91%, and continues to improve
  • Persistent absence is way below the national averages and continues to fall
  • Suspensions reduced dramatically in Sean’s first year, and again have halved this academic year; achieved through a clear and firm focus on behaviour for learning, with the introduction of a standardised Behaviour Curriculum which supports all staff
  • Progress at Year 11 in-year improvement predicted to see continued improvement

Now you have an opportunity to be a vital part of Fairfax Academy’s journey to excellence. In return for your vocational passion to teach and develop students, you will be rewarded with being part of the Academy’s push for Outstanding provision, and knowing that you have accomplished the Trust’s mission to “Enrich Lives and Transform Futures”.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our well-led and motivated team committed to continuous improvement.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students. As we have an under representation of male Teaching Assistants, we actively encourage male candidates that believe they meet the criteria of this role to apply.
