Hours of Work: 32 ½ hours per week, term time only

Including working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed by the school, with availability to work any or all of the remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise, and for which additional payment will be made

Salary: Band D point 5-6         Pro rata salary £17,943 - £18,243

                                          (based on a full time salary of £23,500 – £23,893)

The salary will increase by one additional week of pay if the appointee has 5 years or more continuous service with the Local Authority

ACET is a forward thinking and rapidly developing multi-academy trust. We are seeking to appoint ambitious and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning and teaching of children and young people.

This role may be attractive to those who may already have experience of / or working with children in any setting and who may therefore have relevant skills and knowledge they wish to develop, the applicant must have a good understanding of autism. Applications are welcome from graduates seeking to gain experience in an educational environment.

Under the guidance of others the Teaching Assistant will:

·      Promote and support student access to the curriculum

·      Support children in their learning

·      Work with class groups, individuals and small groups

·      Model and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour

·      Have a willingness to by fully involved in the life of the academy

 

*The role is based at Aston Academy but you may be required to work in other academies within the trust.

Aston Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Swallownest, Sheffield. It is supported by the multi-academy Aston Community Education Trust, which provides specialist staff and expertise for three secondary schools and nine Junior. Aston is a larger than the average-sized secondary, Aston Academy provides 1,800 places for students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.

Aston Community Education Trust was formed in May 2011 when Aston Academy, previously known as Aston Comprehensive School, converted to academy status.
