Aysgarth is a thriving country Preparatory School and Pre-Prep situated in the Yorkshire Dales, just 10 minutes from the A1. There are around 210 pupils across our Prep School (aged 8-13 yrs) and our Pre-Prep (aged 3-8 yrs). The school is a close-knit and happy community.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional teacher to join the staff at this flourishing school. The successful candidate will engender a love of learning and will be able to teach across the full range of subjects. The ability to contribute to the broader aspects of life in this busy school will be beneficial. A boarding role may be available for the right candidate. Aysgarth has its own salary scale and this post attracts a generous package.

Aysgarth is one of the country’s leading independent Prep Schools. It comprises a traditional boys boarding prep school (8-13) and a co-educational pre-prep (3-8) on the same site. It is set in extensive and beautiful grounds, which allow children to enjoy a traditional childhood alongside an outstanding education. The children progress to many of the leading senior schools in the country. 

The roll is at an all-time high and the finances are very sound. The staff team is very committed, talented and they work closely together. Class sizes range from 7 to 16 (average is 12), the classrooms are well equipped and resourced, and expectations are high. The children are well mannered and keen to learn and progress. The School offers a very full curriculum including sports, performing and creative arts, and all manner of hobbies and activities. The facilities are excellent and the most recent additions include a magnificent sports hall, art and DT dept and a dedicated theatre. 

The School site covers 50 acres and is located in Wensleydale, just outside Newton le Willows, Nr Bedale in North Yorkshire. It is 10 minutes from the A1 and set amidst the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.
