Dorridge Primary School, a large three form entry, community Primary school with a nursery is a ‘Good’ school at the heart of the community. Situated just minutes off Junction 5 of the M42 and only a mile from the town of Solihull. Visitors are impressed by ‘the real family feeling between pupils and staff’. Our recent Ofsted report in May 2023 spoke about, pupils who are ‘polite, confident and mature’ where leaders have very high expectations that pupils will gain the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to be well prepared for the next stages of their education‘. As an innovative school always striving for better, there is a constant drive to achieve maximum personal and academic potential. As part of a Multi Academy Trust, there is the opportunity for exceptional training and the sharing of knowledge and ideas.

We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner, who will also be a Year Leader with core responsibility, likely to be in Key Stage 2, but this will be dependent on the right candidate.

We are looking for a Teacher who is:

  • an individual with the commitment to driving standards and ensuring every child is challenged to achieve their maximum potential
  • a teacher with experience of raising attainment of all pupils in a challenging classroom environment
  • committed to developing their own teaching practice in a supportive team environment
  • a professional who is able to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders
  • an excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a team

We are looking for a leader who is:

  • an enthusiastic practitioner with high expectations, who will act as an ambassador for Teaching and Learning across their year group
  • able to effectively lead key areas of school development
  • able to motivate, inspire, challenge and support colleagues within their year group across all areas of Teaching and Learning
  • able to use tracking, assessment, monitoring and data analysis as an effective tool to accelerate progress and raise achievement

  • Interviews will be conducted by the Heads of School, Mrs G Thelwell and Mrs J Hales, and the Director of Primary Education for Arden Multi Academy Trust, Mrs R Ashe.
  • Interviews will include: lesson observation; in tray exercises and a presentation to the Heads of School and Assistant Head Teachers.

Dorridge Primary school is a large, three-form entry, community Primary School, part of Arden Multi Academy Trust which is . In addition, the school offers morning nursery sessions with up to 40 children in each morning session. High quality wraparound care is offered in the purpose built provision at ‘Darby's’.  The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment, where children develop into confident young people with a real thirst for learning.
