About The Elmgreen School
The Elmgreen School is an 11-18 comprehensive at the heart of its community. We are a school that offers its staff excellent opportunities for professional growth in a beautiful environment. We live by Elmgreen motto, ‘We look after ourselves, We look after each other, We look after our school, We look after our community.’ If you believe you share those values and want the absolute best for every young person you teach then we are the school for you.
We believe that learning is a lifelong activity and we also ensure that we make our students ready for the world beyond school. Our network of schools through the Dunraven Educational Trust and links with local, national and international education ensures that we more than fulfil this remit. At Elmgreen, we have consistently good teaching and learning in a calm, ordered environment. Education should enrich every individual in our society, regardless of where they come from. That is what education at The Elmgreen School is based on.
The Elmgreen School is a special place to learn. It strives for high results and the highest aspirations whilst also retaining strong core values. I hope that by navigating our school website you can get a sense of what we can offer, what we stand for and what we can achieve together.
Why choose us?
Elmgreen is a true community school for staff and students. We have a very low staff turnover, particularly for a London school because people love to work here. The school develops its staff through a fabulous Early Career Teacher Programme and a very large proportion of our more experienced staff are pursuing further qualifications in terms of their professional development. We are all continuous learners at The Elmgreen School.
This is also a school that believes in finding and developing talent. The vast majority of Middle and Senior Leaders in both teaching and non teaching positions have been developed and promoted through the school. It’s good to know that you are coming to a school that has your development at its heart. The Headteacher has been in post for ten years and the Senior Team are highly experienced and very supportive. Further support comes through the Dunbraven Educational Trust with real opportunities for collaborative work.
The school is committed to diversity and the staff, across all areas of the school, are fully representative of the population that they serve. This is something we are very proud of.
We think this is a great school to join. We look forward to your application.
