Position Overview:
To deliver high-quality physical education lessons that promote students’ physical development, health, fitness, and overall well-being within the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) Department, as well as supporting the Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) and School/Representative Sport programs.. The role aims to encourage active participation, teamwork, and a lifelong interest in physical activity. Experience as a swimming instructor and/or possession of a valid Water Life Saving Certificate will be an added advantage.
Key Result Areas/ Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physical Education (PE) lessons aligned with the school curriculum
Help with organisation of events, ensuring necessary paperwork, communication and transportation arrangements are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
Assist with the setting up of sport related activities and the daily operation of the PDHPE department.
Other duties as required by the HOD, Coordinators, Deputy / Heads of School or Principal.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment during all physical activities.
Organize and support school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
Encourage student participation in physical activities and foster sportsmanship and teamwork.
Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of sports equipment and facilities.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and well-being.
Adhere to school policies, safeguarding requirements, and health & safety standards.
Job Specification
Willingness to contribute time outside of normal school hours in the provision of sport, co-curricular activities, camps and events.
Ability to contribute positively to the School’s goals that are aligned to the values, purpose, mission and strategic priorities of the organisation.
Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work and resources effectively to meet all departmental and organisational objectives.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders to meet mutual goals and objectives.
Proven skills in designing, implementing and evaluating differentiated and inspirational learning experiences for students.
Expertise and experience leading/coaching sports or co-curricular activities.
Knowledge and experience applying the principles of Visible Learning would be highly regarded.
Understanding of child development and student well-being.
Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.
Awareness of health, safety, and safeguarding practices in a school environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or Degree in Speciality plus Diploma of Education
Valid teacher registration in home and/or other countries.
Experience in coaching or leading sports teams is an advantage.
Experience as a swimming instructor and/or possession of a valid Water Life Saving Certificate.
