Job overview

We are seeking to appoint committed and inspiring full-time or part-time Teachers of Engineering to join our supportive, enthusiastic and collaborative team.

To meet the demands of an increasing enrolment and successful engineering department, we are seeking to recruit high-quality teachers in the specialisms of Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical and Computer Engineering. The Teacher of Engineering will have responsibility for delivering quality teaching and learning on BTEC, T Level and/or A level programmes for all students in their classes. This will involve setting and articulating high expectations for students, planning and teaching effectively, and using appropriate resourcing to challenge and engage all learners.

The role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis.

This role will require high levels of personal and professional commitment and the ability to work successfully as part of a team will be essential. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, highly adaptable and flexible, and will need a strong work ethic.

We offer a range of qualifications, with the opportunity for our students to learn valuable technical and employability skills. Our education plan ensures students are on track to make outstanding progress, reach high levels of academic attainment and develop the skills essential for career success. London South Bank University is our main sponsor and we are co-sponsored by Skanska UK, King’s College NHS Trust and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust, who support our work closely in offering real-life employer challenge projects, developing authentic, contextualised learning.

This role offers first class career development opportunities, excellent CPD, wonderful students, an innovative education vision, and great links to industry and higher education. You have the opportunity to play a central role in creating an exceptional sixth form – if this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you!
