Job overview

We are seeking to recruit Examination Invigilators to join our bank of casual staff.

Hours will be by arrangement and will coincide with the timetables set by national examining bodies (May/June) and internal school mock examinations throughout the year.

Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given, however to be successful, you will need to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise your workload, and ensure that strict deadlines can be met. The ability to work on your own initiative and work within a team environment is key.

The main purpose of this role is to supervise examinations and to ensure that guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of examination papers and procedures are followed during examination sessions.

Typical duties include the following:

  • To ensure a calm environment to give the candidates the best possible exam experience.

  • To set up the examination rooms as determined by the Exams Manager.

  • To be aware of any needs that candidates may have during an examination.

  • To ensure that no inappropriate/not allowed items are brought into an examination room.

  • To ensure all candidates are seated according to the seating plan provided.

  • To ensure the security of the examination materials before, during and after the examination.

  • Prevent possible malpractice.

  • Prevent possible administrative failure.

Knutsford Academy provides secondary education to over 1200 students aged from 11 to 18 in the historic town of Knutsford, less than 20 miles from the centre of Manchester and minutes from the M6 motorway. Students arrive in Year 7 from the local primary schools in Knutsford and we also attract a number of students from the south Manchester and Northwich areas. The school formed in 1953 as Knutsford High School and still operates from the original site in the centre of the town, it transferred to Academy status in 2012.

Knutsford Academy are part of The Learning Partnership.

The Learning Partnership is a new multi-academy trust that was formed on 1st September 2023 as a merger between The Learning Alliance and The Learning for Life Partnership. The trust consists of fourteen schools, eight of which are primary schools and six are secondary schools, all based across East Cheshire and North Staffordshire.

The Knutsford Academy Team

Knutsford Academy is led by Headteacher Karen Key, who oversees the strategy and running of the school. There are currently over 60 teachers at the school and a support team who all work collectively to deliver the very best for our students.
