Salary: Teacher Main Scale + SEN Allowance, Salary determined on appointment plus an SEN allowance. Depending on qualifications and experience

Location: Carew Academy, Beddington Park, Church Lane, Wallington

Working Pattern (36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year) 

Carew Academy is an outstanding special school situated at the edge of Beddington Park in Wallington. It has 250 students aged 7-18 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including complex needs. There are plans for the school to move to a purpose built Free School in 2024.

In addition to details given in the attached Job description, experience of teaching in a specialist SEND setting is desirable but not essential. Carew teachers work primarily, but not exclusively, within one of three different teaching pathways. Skills for Further Education, Skills for Work and Skills for Life. We welcome applicants from a Computer Science teaching background to join our team on the journey to Exceptional. We require a specialist Computing teacher as this post requires you to teach a range of student’s form KS2 up to Sixth Form. The accredited qualifications we offer are Functional Skills Entry 1 up to Level 2, BTEC Entry 3 and BTEC Level 1. Computing Specialist ECTs are equally welcome and will benefit from the close support of a small school environment. Teachers with a Primary Computing background should also be encouraged to apply, your Computing specialism will enable you to make the leap to accredited qualifications. It should not be a barrier to your application.
