The PRIDE Academy is a secondary co-educational special school for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, based in Hillingdon. The school aims to provide a therapeutic environment to support young people’s academic journey and psychological wellbeing.
The PRIDE Academy moved into its new purpose-built school in April 2022 and will gradually expand its intake to include a Sixth Form enabling 110 pupils aged 11 to 19 to be educated on site. The new Free School offers extensive facilities including specialist science labs, well-equipped art and design and technology rooms in a bright and spacious building, as well as an indoor sports hall and an outdoor multi use games area.
We are looking to appoint an inspiring and dynamic Teacher who is committed to ensuring that every student achieves their maximum potential. Although it is desirable that you possess some prior experience of working with pupils with special educational needs, we are also keen for candidates who may not possess all the skills as yet but could bring to us a positive “can do” approach and we will train you in the appropriate approaches and strategies. Therefore, applications from Newly Qualified Teachers with an interest in teaching pupils with a wide range of needs are welcome.
The ideal candidate
We are looking to appoint an inspiring and dynamic Year 7 Teacher who is committed to ensuring that every student achieves their maximum potential across our Transition pathway and enrichment programme. We want a teacher who has passion, enthusiasm, alongside the skills and desire to develop and nurture our Year 7 students through their transition from primary school to secondary school.
