Altrincham Grammar School for Boys has since September 2016 operated as part of the Hamblin Education Trust consisting of two schools, North Cestrian School and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. We are currently looking to enhance the Finance team at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, and are looking to recruit a dedicated, organised individual who will support the Finance & Planning Manager in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, and work closely with their North Cestrian School counterpart supporting the Trust as a whole.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing all day-to-day aspects of the finance function of the school. The Finance Assistant works closely with the Trust Accountant as required, and reports directly to the F&P Manager at North Cestrian.

The post holders key responsibilities are:

· Processing purchase orders

· Ordering resources/supplies using school’s credit card and reconciliation of monthly statement

· Supporting annual and internal audits

· Processing weekly BACS payments to suppliers/staff

· Supporting budget holders with statements and supplier queries/issues

· Maintaining paperless systems

The successful candidate will have: -

· Strong system skills with the confidence to pick up new accountancy systems

· Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks

· Good team working skills, including flexibility and adaptability

· A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to work to deadlines

The successful candidate will require a DBS check. If short listed, a social media search may be conducted.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is an academy school based in Altrincham, Cheshire for boys aged 11-18.

The school was founded in 1912. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School. It caters for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire. The academic results are outstanding and they place the School in the top 20 maintained schools in the country. Our GCSE results are strong in respect of 9/8 grades and our ‘A’ level results in respect of A*/A/B grades. The 2022 Ofsted Report graded the School as ‘Outstanding in all area’.
