Nursery Practitioner x 2

Little Herons Pre-school currently provides high quality care and education for children aged 2-4, term time only from 8.40am to 3.10pm Monday to Friday. We will soon be open all year round and take babies from six months. Due to increasing numbers and this brand new nursery class, we are seeking candidates who are:

You will need to:

• Deliver high quality care and education ensuring the requirements of the EYFS are met.
• Promote positive relationships in the setting with children, parents and other professionals.
• Support children's development, learning and play.
• Be a key person in carrying out all related responsibilities with a small group of children and their families.
• Ensure high standards of safety, security and well being at all times.
• Ensure that safeguarding procedures are understood and adhered to.
• Ensure all legislation and internal policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
• Flexibility is essential, you must be prepared to attend some after school and evening meetings, to work inset days and extend working hours as necessary.

Qualifications: You must hold at least a full and relevant level 3 qualification and experience of working in an early years setting is desirable. GCSEs in Maths and English are essential. Paediatric first aid, a current safeguarding certificate and a food hygiene certificate are desirable.

Hours: 8.00 am till 6.00pm - 38 hours, 4 days per week, all year round (holiday entitlement of 25 days FTE (under 5 years’ service) plus bank holidays).

Due to the nature of the position, flexibility in hours will sometimes be required.

Contract term: Permanent
