Job overview

We are looking for Out of School Hours Care Assistants for our OSHC program. This position is on call and requires availability from Monday to Thursday 2:30pm-6:00pm and on Friday from 12.00pm-4pm.

What will you do on a day-to-day basis?    

  • Oversee and take care of students    
  • Lead group activities   
  • Monitor safety of children

Responsibilities 

  • Working with team members to plan and coordinate OSHC activities and events. 
  • Leading and supporting students as they participate in age-appropriate activities 
  • Monitoring students to ensure compliance with OSHC rules and prevent accidents 
  • Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of after school care facilities and equipment 
  • Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as students development and accidents to OSHC Coordinator 
  • Guiding students according to all emergency procedures and OSHC rules 
  • Discussing with the coordinator about the daily schedule and support with arranging the workstations 
  • Ensuring good contact with parents/care takers and informing about specific points for attention    
  • Participating in staff meetings 


Requirements

  • Strong organizational ability 
  • Supervisory skill and experience 
  • Ability to work with a variety of ages and demographic groups 
  • Ability to take charge and motivate others 
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control 

 Experience: 

  • 1 year experience as a After School Care / Summer camp supervisor, or teacher / teaching assistant experience 

Qualifications: 

  • Child care qualifications (at least SPW 3 or comparable English equivalent CACHE level 2 or higher)   
  • Living in Amsterdam/Amstelveen and permitted to work in the Netherlands.
