We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Head of Food Technology in our oversubscribed school and sixth form. The successful candidate would be required to teach KS3 Food - building skills and knowledge together with AQA GCSE Food and Nutrition across KS4.
We are looking for a Summer Term start, but would consider an earlier start date for the right candidate.
This post is suitable for an experienced teacher to develop and lead this popular subject. It is a key role for someone who is committed to inspiring and motivating students’, encouraging healthy eating and food preparation as a life skill alongside personal development opportunities. The Food room is well equipped and you will be joining a friendly and hard-working team, supported by an experienced Food Technician.
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
● QTS;
● a broad base of subject knowledge;
● the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5;
● a clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum;
● a clear understanding of successful classroom practice and
evidence based teaching;
● employs a range of teaching and learning strategies;
● the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;
● the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;
● effective interpersonal skills;
● able to demonstrate suitability to work with children and
young people.
