Head of Food and Catering

We are looking for a talented individual keen to lead our Food and Catering department from September 2024.

Teaching Food and Catering these days can be a challenging job – particularly in a national context that does not seem to celebrate its importance. Here we resolutely refute that context and have a department that offers opportunities across KS3 and KS4 in new purpose-built food rooms and a modern professional catering area within our QEStudio building. 

We expect to appoint a Head of Food and Catering who has:

• a clear vision and direction for the department; continuously raising achievement
• an ability to identify department priorities for improvement; to lead, manage and evaluate its implementation
• the ability to line manage, on a daily basis the work of the department
• either a great track record of success or background in catering
• knowledge and skills to teach KS3 Textiles (if needed)

We have a culture of high expectations but most importantly we are looking for someone with an ambition and drive to be the best teacher they can be. Working here is demanding but the rewards are commensurate in a school with a strong, highly motivated staff, great facilities, a lovely environment and pleasant, friendly and highly motivated pupils.

Building on our long successful history, we launched our sister school in September 2017 creating a small multi-academy trust of our 2 schools, the Lunesdale Learning Trust.
