Location: Hill View Primary Academy, Hill View Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH10 5BD 

FTE Salary Range: Main Pay Scale Point 1 – 6, £25,714 - £36,961

Contract Type: Permanent, part-time

Contract Hours: 3.5 days (0.7) per week; Monday PM and Tuesday - Thursday

About the role

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to help our students prepare for the next stage in learning and future career paths.

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced specialist teacher of computing that will work with all ages (YR to Y6) across our large and vibrant school. You will be responsible for the planning and teaching of the IT/Computing curriculum lessons delivered during teachers PPA time as well as helping to shape and map out the discrete Computing curriculum and ensure its place as part of our Integrated Curriculum. The school is well resourced with computing equipment, including class sets of iPads and laptops and a dedicated Computer Suite. The successful candidate will be the computer subject lead and also work closely with the SLT to ensure online safety is securely embedded within the curriculum.

About the successful candidate

The successful person will have high expectations for pupil’s learning and behaviour and will be able to communicate effectively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for all children.

We are looking for teachers who have the following experience and qualities:  

  • Has a professional approach to all aspects of school life  
  • Possesses excellent communication skills both written and verbal  
  • Is able to work effectively as part of a successful team and show initiative  
  • Has experience of working with primary aged children  
  • Has a caring, cheerful and conscientious disposition  
  • Shows resilience and determination  
  • Ideally has a track record of innovation with computers and technology and their use with primary aged pupils.

The school is an academy within the Reach South Academy Trust. Hill View Primary Academy is a warm, welcoming, vibrant and inclusive community school in the heart of Bournemouth.
