A school in Derby are currently looking for an experienced teacher to take on the role of 0.6 PPA cover for the school. The role will involve working with different year groups to cover planning time for other members of staff within the school, usually for one afternoon at a time, however it could change dependent on the school’s situation. This role will require some flexibility in terms of hours and lessons taught by the teacher due to the nature of the role.
Currently the school want someone who is willing to adapt to their ethos and fit into the nurturing and academic environment they are trying to create. Following a recent change in their leadership the school’s focus has shifted to pursuing a more holistic approach to teaching, whilst encouraging their pupils to focus on self-improvement in the aim to prepare them for secondary school. The school want someone who is willing to focus on the individual needs of the pupils while ensuring that the whole class retains a good average.
The role will begin in September and will continue until at least the Christmas break, the role is a long term supply position meaning that it could be extended beyond the Christmas break or the right candidate may be offered a permanent role at the school. Interviews for the role will most likely be held this side of the summer holidays, however if necessary at the start of next term.
