0.88 Job Coach (Term Time Only 40 Weeks)

Hackney Campus & Epping Campus

£22,938 - £24,874 per annum (depending on Campus)


We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Job coaches who will work alongside young people in Foundation learning (young people working at entry level or with learning disabilities) in the workplace to support them in developing the skills they need to work independently.


The role of the Job Coach will be to ensure that each young person on placement has access to high quality job coaching support, thus enabling them to learn the required skills and secure paid employment at the end of the programme. Additionally, the Job Coach will be responsible for securing placements, on the programme, suited to the requirements of each intern. The Job Coach will also be responsible for facilitating and developing excellent working relationships with colleagues and partners onsite, including local employers, to broker job opportunities for the client group.


Each Job Coach will work with students, parents and employers to enable the effective day-to-day support, monitoring and sourcing of placements. As well as working alongside students and employers during the initial stages of a work placement to carry out regular assessment of students, promote health and safety awareness, support employers in the adaptation of working environments and help secure placements as appropriate.


There will be travelling involved and possibly some flexible working at weekends and evenings. We are looking for a job coach with experience of working with young people with learning disabilities in an educational setting, good communication and record keeping skills, a creative and flexible approach and an energy and enthusiasm for developing opportunities for young people with learning disabilities at work.


The successful applicant will have knowledge and understanding of working with people managing health conditions and disabilities to secure work placements, volunteering or paid employment; including offering on-the-job coaching. These positions will suit self-starters, who are able to use their initiative, whilst also implementing evidence based employment models, such as Supported Employment/ TSI.


The successful post holder will have: 


• Experience of working with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities in a work setting. 

• Experience of completing risk assessments and task analysis. 

• Been trained in the process of Systematic Instruction or be willing to undertake training in Systematic Instruction. 

• Qualifications at GCSE Grade C or L2 in English and Maths.
