Job overview

Smart Teachers is recruiting for two Residential Care Workers on a temporary contract, leading on to a Permanent contract through positive feedback within the time period. The applicants will be working with two students who have severe and complex needs. The role will be based in their residential site, working the mornings and afternoons / evenings. 

The school has students that are visually and hearing impaired. It is a large school with up to 140 students across the building, with age groups ranging from 7 to 19 years old. The school has some of the diverse special needs cases, so a real passion for this role is desirable.

The staff and students are all very friendly and welcoming, creating a very appealing work environment. Fantastic, state of the art facilities throughout the school and residential block, showcasing lots of activities which help engage and create long lasting and positive relationships with the students.

About the Role

  • 1:1 Residential Care Worker
  • Two Twin boys, aged 16, needing 1:1 care in the mornings and afternoons
  • Split AM / PM shifts of 7:00 – 9:00am, then 16:00 – 21:00pm
  • Option to work during the day with them 1:1 in the school
  • Excellent onsite training provided

In order to be considered for this role, the 1:1 Residential Care Worker will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Some severe SEN experience, lots of training provided
  • Be committed and hold a clean driving licence
  • Have strong behaviour management skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
